I am thankful for the sun that brilliantly shines
And rain that covers us, just in time
For shadows on that lonely wall
And One Love that saved me most of all
I am thankful for the propane delivery guy
Who helps keep me warm when winter is nigh
For raisins squished out on the floor
For fingerprints all over that painted door
I am thankful for the friend who won’t forgive
And my Friend that died so that I may live
For gum in the dryer, spread over my favorite T
For hard changes and rearranges pressing on me
I am thankful for my garden standing bare
And the harvest of plenty still present there
For the rush and the stretch of too many things to do
And boredom that left me crying in the other room
I am thankful for old friends, and friends of new
For friends in my church, in your church – in Kalamazoo!
For friends that pray with me, when day is like night
For friends that pray when my faith is vaguely blight
I am thankful for the enemy that looked the other way
Because God was there to save me that day
For the preacher who preaches and draws deep within
For heroes who protect us and never give in!
I am thankful for those who love my children well
And carry the voice of mentorship’s bell
For those who care and those who don’t
For those who love and those who won’t
I am thankful for seeds of hope buried deep in the bin
Bringing me to the place of releasing worry and sin
For a God that saw me in my mother’s womb
For my Savior risen victoriously from Calvary’s tomb
I stand and rejoice for the blessing of here
From where God has brought me, to the blessing of there
I look to the heavens on this day of Thanksgiving and praise
For the Lord is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – all of my days…
Be blessed this Thanksgiving, giving thanks in all things!
Love, friendship, and prayer,
Michelle
